Gunnerside New Bridge is a road bridge over the River Swale, with dual arches, and is positioned at the southern boundary of Gunnerside Village. Beneath its arches is a long stone island. Converging with the River Swale, beside the bridge, is Gunnerside Beck.

The Methodist Chapel in Gunnerside is the only one in Upper Swaledale. It was founded in 1789 and rebuilt in 1866 and has a Grade II Listing. The obelisk within the graveyard commemorates local men who fell during the First and Second World Wars, 9 in all. Their names are listed on the obelisk.

Gunnerside Smithy, "The Old Smithy" was established as long ago as 1795. It is both a working smithy and a museum. Artefacts on display within the smithy all originate from the smithy itself, including a tub from the Brandy Bottle Mine, part of the Old Gang Mines on Melbecks Moor.

The village hall in Gunnerside was for a long time the Literary Institute, used from the 1860's to promote reading and education amongst the miners and farmers.

Gunnargsill Hall, or Gunnersgill Hall, is a truly beautiful grade II Listed Building. This property is positioned on the east bank of Gunnerside Beck and on the north fringe of the village. It adjoins an attractive footpath coming from the north end of Melbecks Moor. The property is a former school and school house but is now a guest house.

This large property enjoys an elevated view from the north west side of the village crossroads. Its location is just within the moorland boundary, and a footpath around its upper side leads to a number of good footpaths over Gunnerside Pasture that head to the old mines at Lownerthwaite.

The Old Joiners Shop has been tastefully converted to a private residence in the very centre of Gunnerside Village.

The Kings Head is located in the village centre, near to the crossroads and the main bridge across the Gunnerside Gill. The pub is community owned and has a Grade II Listing. The Kings Head is a very popular pub and restaurant.
