Currack Force, Swaledale, Coast to Coast
Currack Force is part of the Stonesdale Beck, and is located very close to the Beck's confluence with the River Swale near Park Bridge. It is only 300m from Wain Wath Force on the River Swale. Currack Force, because it is located on a tributary of the River Swale and because it is off the beaten track, is often overlooked. Requiring only a modest walk from Park Bridge on Stonesdale Lane and an even more modest walk across a field to the Stonesdale Gill, it is certainly worth the effort. The images were taken in dry weather; during wet weather there is a scintillating spray over a tall and wide waterfall into a stream with a more than a modest depth.
Currack Force Keld, Swaledale
Currack Force is easily attained from Park Bridge by walking up Stonesdale Lane. It is a pretty steep climb from the bridge but of short duration. At a bend near the top of the road a path heading east conveys you across a lengthy grassed field to the Stonesdale Beck. The Waterfall is accessed by climbing down the Beck's riverbank.
